Christina Listanco Hermanstad

Christina L. Hermanstad (now Christina L. Einmo, 1978) is a freelance photographer that currently teaches Media and Communication as a vocational course in Norway. Her work has been published in Marie Claire (UK, Philippines, Brazil, Holland, China), VG, Dagbladet -Magasinet, Journalisten, Bodø Nu, TV2 and Adressavisen

Christina has also worked as a news reporter for the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (NRK). Her experience includes radio, writing for the net and video journalism. This site is a showcase of both previous work and current projects.

After a total of 18 years of living abroad in both the Middle East, Australia, Philippines, USA and China, Christina has finally settled down in Norway with her husband and three children. Below you can read a quote from Marie Claire about Christina's traveling days as a photojournalist.

"With a father she affectionately compares to action man Indiana Jones and a childhood divided between Kuwait, Australia, The Phillippines and Norway, there was little chance that photojournalist Christina Hermanstad would ever have a mundane, nine-to-five job. Currently dividing her time between Norway, London and Asia, Christina revels in the nomadic lifestyle her profession demands. "I love the fact that I can be anywhere I want and do anything I want," she enthuses. Christina recently spent seven months living in Manila´s slums, photographing sex workers - later winning a local award for her work, which portrays the women as heroines, providing for their poverty-stricken families. She describes working on this month´s report on the "Adoption Hotel" in Guangzhou, China as intensely emotional. "So many of the people there had waited for years to become parents, I really felt privileged to experience such a very private and joyful event."
